- Where can I find information about student housing?
Detailed information about on-campus housing, including cost, location, and application instructions, can be found on the Student Housing website. Typically 80% of our first-year MIP students will live on campus, and Escondido Village and Rains tend to be the most popular on-campus housing options. There are also housing options for couples and families.
The Student Housing website also provides limited details on off-campus housing.
- By when do I need to apply for on-campus housing?
To receive a housing assignment at Stanford University, graduate students should submit an application by the appropriate deadline through Axess each year. Axess begins accepting housing applications in early April for the summer and for the following academic year.
Be sure to submit your application by the appropriate deadline—check the calendar—if you want to be included in the pool of candidates considered for housing for a particular quarter. The lottery deadline for 2019/20 Academic Year is May 9, 2019.
- When do I need to arrive on campus to start the program?
See the academic calendar. A mandatory orientation will be held on the Friday before the first day of classes (this date will be included in the offer letter). MIP also offers a "Boot Camp," a two week refresher course on math, statistics, and economics with other fun activities. It is highly recommended that you attend this. There is no cost to attend, but you will be responsible for your housing, meals, etc. If you are moving into university housing in time to attend Boot Camp, be sure to select the correct move-in date when you apply.
