About Field Research Trips
The Summer Field Research Trips, offered through FSI's Global Opportunities and Enrichment for Students (GOES) program, offer a unique opportunity for students to work directly on applied field research projects with Stanford faculty around the world. Student teams travel with faculty during the summer in groups ranging in size from 1-6 students. Students develop their team projects on campus before departure, carry out research (interviews, data collection, analysis, etc.) in the international field site, and prepare a final report after their return. Programs are open to students from all majors and class years, as long as they will be enrolled in Fall quarter of the following year. The program covers all of the students’ travel expenses at each international field site.
Current field research opportunities are decided based on faculty research projects. Currently no field research projects are ongoing.
