Biography

Shin Haeng comes to Stanford after working as a foreign service officer for more than six years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Her roles included a two-year posting to the Korean Embassy in Beijing and her most recent position at the Korean Peninsula Policy Bureau. In these capacities, she formulated and implemented policies to navigate U.S.-China competition in areas such as human rights, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the North Korean nuclear problem. During the pandemic, she established and operated the Covid-19 entry & exit and quarantine protocols for the United States Forces Korea (USFK), receiving a Certificate of Excellence from the USFK Deputy Commander. 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Seoul National University and was a Temasek Foundation Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking (LEaRN) Scholar exchange student at National University of Singapore.
