Misato Nakamura

Misato is pursuing a master’s degree in International Policy at Stanford, specializing in Cyber Policy and Security. Prior to her studies at Stanford, she worked for over four years as a civilian defense official for Japan’s Ministry of Defense, where she addressed various national security issues. Her recent efforts focused on enhancing defense cooperation between Japan and the United States, and she worked toward the Japan-US Defense Ministerial meetings and related initiatives. At Stanford, Misato aims to explore future policies to address growing cyber threats and the dynamics of US-East Asia relations. Misato holds a BA in Law from Sophia University in Japan and completed a one-year exchange program at Sciences Po Strasbourg in France.
