Biography

Lorena is overjoyed to join the Ford Dorsey Master’s in International Policy program as the Career Development and Alumni Engagement Manager.

With over 12 years of experience in learning and development, recruitment, and DEIB, Lorena is dedicated to building meaningful relationships that strengthen both community and career growth. She brings deep expertise in preparing students and young professionals for the workforce of tomorrow, with experience spanning tech, education, and nonprofits.

In her role at MIP, Lorena is responsible for coaching students, designing career pathways, and facilitating workshops. She will also foster strong connections with alumni, creating valuable networking opportunities and career resources. Additionally, she collaborates with internal teams and external partners to provide career guidance, job placement support, and professional development workshops. Her ultimate goal is to deliver strategic career advising through innovative, forward-thinking approaches.

Before joining MIP, Lorena led career-focused workshops and provided one-on-one coaching through her career readiness agency, Canela Career Academy. She also played a key role in designing and launching a groundbreaking talent acquisition program across multiple Stanford schools and units, including VPDOR.

Lorena holds an MBA in Strategic Management from John F. Kennedy University. Her greatest fulfillment comes from supporting others—whether guiding students or contributing to the broader community.
