Biography

Hosun Na is a Master’s student in International Policy at Stanford University, sponsored by the Republic of Korea Army. She graduated at the top of her class from the Korea Military Academy, earning the Presidential Award, with dual degrees in Psychology (focused on Leadership) and Military Science. While an undergraduate, she worked as a student researcher on a project jointly organized by Seoul National University and the Republic of Korea Army, examining NATO’s strategic response to Russian hybrid warfare at the Center for Future Warfare Studies.

She has served in both command and staff positions in the ROK Army. In the 12th Division, she led a platoon in III Corps’ first unit to be equipped with wheeled armored vehicles and later served as a battalion operations officer, updating the division’s training guidelines, which won first place in the division-wide competition for best training reform initiatives. In the 72nd Division, she commanded a company and later served as a brigade-level training officer, advancing operational planning and training strategies.

Drawing on her experience in the ROK Army, she seeks to bridge defense strategy and diplomacy to foster stability and cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region. Her academic and professional interests center on hybrid warfare, deterrence strategy, and multilateral security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific, particularly within the U.S.–ROK–Japan alliance framework. When not in uniform, she enjoys running, singing, and spending time with dogs.
