Stanford Internet Observatory launches the Trust and Safety Teaching Consortium
A new teaching consortium will share open access teaching material for developing classes on online trust and safety.
On May 24, 2023, the Stanford Internet Observatory launched a new teaching consortium to encourage the development of trust and safety courses across academia. The Trust & Safety Teaching Consortium is a coalition of academic, industry and non-profit experts on online trust and safety problems. The consortium’s goal is to create content that can be used to teach to a variety of audiences about trust and safety issues in a wide range of formats.
The consortium launched with 13 modules, each consisting of an adaptable slide deck and reading list reading list. The modules cover topics including government regulation, metrics, content moderation, online radicalization, harassment and hate speech, sexual exploitation, self-harm, authentication, and emerging technologies.
If you are interested in helping to create teaching content, you can email trustandsafetyjournal@stanford.edu to join the Consortium.
