Hesham Sallam is a research scholar at FSI's Center on Democracy, Development and Rule of Law (CDDRL), and serves as the associate director of the Program on Arab Reform and Democracy. He is also a co-editor of Jadaliyya e-zine and a former program specialist at the U.S. Institute of Peace. His research focuses on Islamist movements and the politics of economic reform in the Arab World.

Rajaie Batniji was born in Gaza and studies health issues in the region. He has written various papers on the health situation in Gaza and the Arab world. His perspectives will be particularly insightful in the current debate about the veracity of the death toll in Gaza and the larger humanitarian crisis. He is also a former CDDRL fellow.
