Backed by the Gordian Knot Center for National Security Innovation, an interdisciplinary student team convened leaders across the military, software and hardware engineering, policymaking, and capital investment for "StanfordDEFCON."

The incoming cohort is the program's largest to date, representing 19 countries and regions from around the world, and includes students with backgrounds in civil service, government, military, industry, and academia.

Fearon, a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute, will succeed Scott Sagan, who has served in the role since 2021.
