About Field Research Internships

The Summer Field Research Internships, offered through FSI's Global Opportunities and Enrichment for Students (GOES) program, offer a unique opportunity for students to work directly on applied field research projects with Stanford faculty around the world. Student teams travel with faculty during the summer in groups ranging in size from 2-8 students. Students develop their team projects on campus before departure, carry out research (interviews, data collection, analysis, etc.) in the international field site, and prepare a final report after their return. Projects focus on issues of chronic underdevelopment. Programs are open to students from all majors and class years, as long as they will be enrolled in Fall quarter 2018. The program covers all of the students’ travel expenses at each international field site.
