Eran Bendavid joined CHP/PCOR in July 2006 as a trainee with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Fellowship in Health Care Research and Policy. He was concurrently pursuing a fellowship in infectious diseases at Stanford, and is now an instructor in Stanford's Division of General Internal Medicine as well as a CHP/PCOR Associate. He is interested in using methods from several disciplines -- including political science, economics and epidemiology -- to study the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases in developing countries. He has conducted research on varied topics including the relationship between hospital working conditions and patient safety; the impact of secrecy in scientific research on the education of graduate students; and the safety and efficacy of tuberculosis rechallenge therapy in South Africa. He received a BA in chemistry and philosophy from Dartmouth College, an MD from Harvard Medical School, and completed an internal medicine residency at Stanford.
