FSI provides support to Stanford faculty, students, and researchers for activities aimed at building student and instructor skills and capacity in the field international studies. The funding programs detailed below each have their own funding parameters, eligibility criteria, and proposal guidelines that must be followed in order to be considered for funding.

- Center on Advancing Decision Making in Aging Request for Proposals
CHP/PCOR Fellowship for Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Scholars, Faculty
Please note--this is funding for a seed project proposal and NOT a fellowship. CADMA is seeking seed project proposals for 2013-2014. Projects focusing on research highlighting the following specific aims will be considered for one year awards: - Investigating the roles that age-related changes in emotion and cognition play in decision making, especially those surrounding cognitively complex and emotionally-charged topics. - Learning how decision making processes influence day-to-day decisions, such as choices regarding exercise and diet that influence health and functional status of the elderly. - Developing and evaluating support tools or information usefully to such tools that could be provided at or near the time of when people face difficult life decisions.
- Center on the Demography and Economics of Health and Aging Request for Seed Project Proposals
CHP/PCOR Fellowship for Graduate Students, Postdoctoral Scholars, Faculty
Please note--this is funding for a seed project proposal and NOT a fellowship. CDEHA is seeking seed project proposals for 2013-2014. Projects focusing on research highlighting the following specific aims will be considered for one year awards: Effects of medical technology on costs, health outcomes, physical and psychological well-being, and health care decisions of the elderly. - Longitudinal and cohort studies of medical care, costs, and health and economic outcomes of older populations, in the United States and other countries, with particular emphasis on economic and health interest in outcome disparities. - Application of demographic techniques, including biodemography, to understand changes in survival, health, and well-being among the elderly over time.
- China Fund Faculty Grants
Fellowship for Stanford-only FacultyThe China Fund Committee is accepting proposals from faculty in the School of Humanities and Sciences for purposes or activities which will support and promote Chinese Studies at Stanford during next fiscal year. Awards typically support faculty research travel or materials, course development, library acquisitions, seminars, workshops, conferences and research assistantships.

- Dr. George Rosenkranz Prize for Health Care Research in Developing Countries
CHP/PCOR Fellowship for Stanford-only Postdoctoral Scholars, Faculty
The Dr. George Rosenkranz Prize is awarded to a young Stanford researcher whose work aims to improve access to effective health care in the developing world.

- Global Underdevelopment Action Fund
Fellowship for Stanford-only Faculty
GUAF provides grants of up to $40,000 for one year early-stage research projects, as well as $5,000 summer research travel grants for faculty and graduate students.
Next application period starts on September 1, 2013. Applications must be received by October 31, 2013. - Hewlett Faculty Grants
Fellowship for Stanford-only FacultyThe Hewlett Fund invites applications only for short-term and relatively low-cost activities or programs directed by members of the Academic Council. Awards typically support faculty research travel or materials, course development, conferences, and research assistantships. Awards range from $500 to $2500 and are frequently considered supplements to external grants.

- Lee Kong Chian NUS-Stanford Distinguished Fellowship on Contemporary Southeast Asia
Shorenstein APARC, SEAF Fellowship for Faculty, Professionals/International ScholarsThe Lee Kong Chian NUS-Stanford Initiative on Southeast Asia, founded in 2007, established a Distinguished Visiting Fellowship on Southeast Asia to help advance scholarly and policy-relevant consideration of this region.
