Shanthi Kappagoda joined the Stanford Health Policy program in Summer 2010. She completed medical school at UC Davis and residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. After that she spent a year working as a physician in Botswana before moving to Stanford to start her fellowship in Infectious Diseases in 2009. She is interested in HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis and improving health care delivery systems in resource poor settings. She is currently working on a Masters degree in Health Services Research at Stanford.
