Biography

Yue Ma has been researching the economics in education and human capital in rural China for over nine years. He has extensive experience doing field work management. While earning his Master's and PhD degrees in Northwest University and Shaanxi Normal University, his research has focused on rural education and health care in China, including projects testing the impacts of providing free eyeglasses to students with myopia, how to provide vision care to kids in rural China, teacher performance pay, and baby nutrition and parenting projects. His current projects include managing the online computer-assisted learning, text messaging in early childhood development and long-distance learning programs among rural school students.
