Data Science for Food Security, Crop Modeling, Yield Monitoring and Forecasting, Precision Agriculture, Remote Sensing, Machine Learning

Zhenong Jin joined FSE as a Postdoctoral Scholar in July 2016. Being a broadly-trained crop modeler, he leverages statistical and process-based models, remote sensing, and machine learning approaches to advance the science that enhance the adaptability and sustainability of crop production, food security and ecosystem functioning in the context of climate change and human activities. His current research focuses include global crop yield mapping and yield gap analysis using high-resolution satellite imagery, as well as the integration of satellite data and crop model for guiding precision agriculture. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and a BA degree in Ecology from Peking University.
