Katie Kuruc became the Student Recruitment, Career Services, and Alumni Affairs Manager at the Ford Dorsey MA Program in International Policy Studies in October 2017. In this role, Katie is responsible for helping to recruit students to IPS, including marketing the program within Stanford and outside the University, advising students on summer internship opportunities, as well as job opportunities beyond Stanford. She also works to connect our 700+ alumni with current students, and keep them appraised of all the great things happening with IPS students and faculty.
Prior to joining the MA-IPS team at FSI, she served as the Institute’s academic program manager in 2016. Before Stanford, Katie worked at UC Berkeley as the program manager for the France-Berkeley Fund and was the assistant director of the French Studies Program within the Institute for European Studies. In these roles, she managed competitive funding for faculty research, outreach activities with visiting policy makers and scholars, and student engagement in European issues.
Katie previously worked in NGOs supporting international students in the U.S. and American students abroad. She has worked closely with the French Ministry of Education as well as the South Korean Ministry of Education. Katie holds an MA in international education management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a BA in French Language and Literature from Oregon State. She is fluent in French.
