Speaker
Randall S. Stafford - Stanford University

Off-label medication use is a prominent feature of clinical practice, but has been largely neglected by the FDA. Dr. Stafford will summarize his work in this area by describing national patterns of off-label drug use in the context of current drug regulation, the extent of evidence supporting particular off-label uses, and the potential advantages and disadvantages of off-label drug use.  In addition, there will be a focus on atypical antipsychotic medications and the costs associated with off-label drug use.
